I thought they were in there too, but I looked it up and they didn’t get there until the E46. The 4A BT came out in 1995.

BMW got there in ‘92 with the S70/2, and again with half that motor in ‘95 with the S50B32.
Ferrari also hit that in the F50 in ‘95.
Honda also in ‘92 in the B16A

S50B32 came in 96. S70 was a low-production flagship model, so was the F50. Got me on the B16. Didn’t realize it was putting out that much power that early.
